Educate! Energize! Empower!

At Energion Publications, we are dedicated to inspiring and equipping individuals to fulfill their purpose in the world. Our mission is to educate, energize, and empower people in their journeys.

As Christians, what is our calling? The Great Commission instructs us to make disciples—followers of Jesus. But what does that really entail? How do we effectively carry out this mission?

We believe that this journey begins with attentive listening and culminates in bold action. This journey can be illustrated through a few key concepts:

  • Listening – hearing what God’s will is for each of us and for our churches
  • Study – studying, which can be another form of listening, is looking at the sources of our faith as well as all of God’s creation in which we can learn both about goals and strategies
  • Community – working with and learning from those around us
  • Discernment – Learning to distinguish right from wrong, truth from error, effective from ineffective
  • Conviction – gaining certainty and the underlying decision to act according to what we know
  • Action – Acting upon our convictions to actually be disciples and make more disciples
  • Courage – sticking to the knowledge and conviction we have through opposition to our actions

LISTENING

Let anyone who has ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
(Revelation 2:7a)

STUDY

They diligently studied the scriptures
to see whether these things were true. (Acts 17:11b)

COMMUNITY

As iron sharpens iron, so does a man sharpen his neighbor. (Proverbs 27:17)

DISCERNMENT

To others is given the ability to discern spirits. (1 Corinthians 12:10)

CONVICTION

The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor, he has sent me to bandage the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and new sight to those who are blind.
(Luke 4:18, citing Isaiah 61:1)

ACTION

If one of you says [to someone in need], “Go in peace! Be warmed! Be satisfied!” but doesn’t provide his physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:16)

COURAGE

They overcame [the beast] the blood of the lamb and by their spoken testimony, and they did not love their own lives even in the face of death. (Revelation 12:11)
